Early T1D
Registry

STOP T1D (Screen TO Prevent Type 1 Diabetes) — led by the Barbara Davis Center for Diabetes at the University of Colorado — educates health care professionals about type 1 diabetes and the importance of early screening, and equips them with tools for effective screening program development, age-specific monitoring, and timely diagnosis.

To support these efforts, The Early T1D Registry has been created to compile early T1D research data from across the U.S. into an easy-to-use dashboard. This dashboard visually presents T1D screening data to HCPs and the general public, whether they are involved in current screening programs or considering initiating new ones.

[As of February 2025, this registry has compiled data from 1,641 individuals.] â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹

How Does
it Work?

The master database includes anonymized data from persons with early-stage T1D who have tested positive for at least one islet autoantibody using two methods: RBA (radiobinding assay) and ECL (electrochemiluminescence).

This process allows us to report comprehensive data including autoantibody status at FIRST- and LAST-visit; FDR (first degree relative) status; results of OGTT, HbA1c and CGM; and Stage 3 T1D diagnosis progression.

By meticulously curating this data submitted by investigators, we aim to support and enhance research efforts, providing invaluable insights into the early detection, monitoring, and treatment of type 1 diabetes.

Who Can
Contribute

We invite all researchers and clinicians involved in early T1D screening programs in North, South, or Central America to contact us about participating. Data submission to The Early T1D Registry has to be approved by the collaborating institution.

Please email us to indicate your interest in adding your program's data to The Early T1D Registry or if you have any questions about the Registry or Dashboard.

If you or your child have recently screened positive for T1D autoantibodies to GAD, IA-2, ZnT8, or insulin, please consider joining our separate STOP T1D Individual Registry
